Map to Turlington Site

The Turlington Cow Pasture
Watch Out for Cow Piles!
The club is investigating use of new star party site — a dark site within a reasonable drive from Gainesville — a site we could use a few times per year. Toby Turlington, friend of AAC member, Don Loftus, has given permission to use a section of Toby's cow pasture southwest of Newberry, Florida. This site is primitive — no easily available electric power or toilet facilities. (The AAC is working on the latter problem.) The Turlington site is on the west side of County Road 337, about 5.4 miles south of State Road 26.

    [Lat. 29°35.0'N, Long. 82°38.8'W]

Note: AAC members should not use this site unless the AAC announces a specific star party for this location.

Here are directions and a (12K) locator map. (Approximate location: Lat. 29° 35' N, Lat. 82° 39' W)

Directions from Gainesville, Florida

Note: If coming north on Co. Rd. 337, the turnoff is on the left side, about 8.8 miles north of Bronson.

If you arrive after dark, please approach the site using only parking lights.
