Poe Springs Park on the Santa Fe River near High Springs offers observing opportunities for the Alachua Astronomy Club. The Park is about three miles west of High Springs, Florida, about 20 miles northwest of Gainesville. Driving time from Gainesville is about one hour. Poe Springs Park is owned by Alachua County and the North Central Florida YMCA.

Locator Maps and Directions

    From Gainesville

  • Take 441 North to High Springs
  • Turn left (west) onto SR 20
  • Go about 0.5 mile to traffic signal
  • Turn left (south) onto US 41, 27
  • Go about 0.6 mile
  • Turn right (west) onto CR 340 (Poe Springs sign)
  • Go about 2.5 miles to Poe Springs Park
  • Turn right and enter gated entrance
