Star Parties

Year 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010
You do not have to know anything about astronomy or telescopes to attend AAC star parties nor do you need to bring a telescope!
Club members are often amenable to helping beginners learn about the sky and sharing their telescope viewing time.
  • Star parties on the calendars above are for AAC dues-paid members and their guests.  If you'd like to attend a star party before becoming a member (try before you buy), please contact the star party chair.  Please be sure to understand the appropriate "Star Party Etiquette" before attending.

  • Star parties begin shortly before sunset.  Some star parties feature a short presentation at or before sunset, so don't be late!

  • Star parties are sometimes cancelled due to poor weather.   Cancellation notices are posted to the AAC-L by 3pm the day of the star party.  If you are unable to check your email, call the star party coordinator after 3pm.
