The AAC and its members enjoy sharing astronomy with the public at every
opportunity. However, due to a large number of requests for star parties
and other astronomy presentations, we must turn down many
invitations. We have established a number of engagements throughout the year
for the public and members which we must attend to first.
AAC membership is open to anyone with an interest in astronomy! Please check
our Club Information and FAQ
pages to understand how an astronomy club typically serves its community.
Teachers, scout directors and other not-for-profits are still encouraged to
contact our School Liaison
for requesting a star party or daytime presentation.
These have included:
Astronomy merit badges
Classroom presentations
Kid's Day
Sensational Science
Solar Walk presentations
Summer camps
Requests by conventions, private parties and the like have been
entertained (as far away as the Bahamas!) but may require a fee,
sometimes substantial. These requests should be sent to the AAC
President.
