Seattle sculptor and professor (University of Washington), John T. Young, created this award winning creation that beckons people to the New Physics Building on the University of Florida Campus. Young explains that his piece merges art with science by capturing the nature of physics in terms of vectors, forces, gravity, tension and tension structures. He used nearly 60,000 pounds of South Dakota granite to construct this project with steelwork done in Seattle. However, local Gainesville workers did the installation and site preparation. Young's novel creations was installed in 1998, the year the New Physics Building opened.
