Museum of Natural History This page gives links to maps and/or directions showing locations of monthly meetings, star party sites or other events. (Each map page gives approximate latitude and longitude of site — positions may be off about 0.1' or about 0.1 mi.)

Note: Several of our maps are not updated to reflect Florida's new Interstate exit numbering system. Please look for "Old" exit numbers on Interstate markers. You may also click here for a table of exit numbers between old and new.

Additional Note: Since the advent of Internet map pages as Google Maps, we not longer produce most AAC locator maps. Instead, either embedded Google or similar maps, or links to such maps, are used on newer AAC web pages.

Bob Duval Observing Site— In the Chiefland Astronomy Village
Chiefland Star Party — The Chiefland Astronomy Village holds major periodic star parties
Don Loftus Farm — North of Gainesville about 8 mi.
Flying Ten Airport (Kitty Hawke Aviation, Inc. — An observing site west of Gainesville (by invitation)
Gary Cook (Hawthorne) — On Little Orange Lake (by invitation)
Gold Head Branch State Park — East of Gainesville, near Keystone Heights.
Jacobs' Observing Site — A frequent star party site.
Heinrich Residence — 60 miles northwest of Gainesville, and five miles east of Live Oak.

Kanapaha — Site of the semiannual "Moonlight Walk" public star parties
Moondance Hill (Randy's House) — A dark site near UF's Rosemary Hill Observatory
Paynes Prairie State Preserve — Special AAC star parties here in conjunction with Friends of Paynes Prairie.
Poe Springs Park — On the Santa Fe River west of High Springs.
Schools, Public (Gainesville Area) — Club members often visit local schools
