Donating a Telescope to the Alachua Astronomy Club, Inc.

If you have a telescope that you no longer use, consider donating it to the Alachua Astronomy Club, Inc.!

Give me a new home
If the telescope is appropriate for our needs, we will either:
  1. Place it with a custodian and allow members to check it out for a month at a time, as well as use it for public outreach events

  2. Give the telescope to a club member for their personal use, via a drawing of interested parties at a regular club meeting

  3. Donate the telescope to a local school for educational use

  4. Use it in our Amateur Telescope Making group or

  5. Use it for other appropriate and relevant activities as determined by the club's Executive Committee

The Alachua Astronomy Club, Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code.
The AAC will provide a donation receipt upon request of the donor. (The AAC cannot provide appraisals of your equipment.)
