Solar System Walk Solar System Reborn! — The AAC and the City Commission are working together to bring back the "solar system" to Gainesville! At its May 24, 1999 meeting, the City Commission selected Tarpon Springs artist Elizabeth Indianos to design the solar system walk for NW 8 Avenue in Gainesville. The club has contributed about $25,000 toward the project but another $15,000 needs to be raised to complete the project.

Solar System Planet Quest — Gainesville High School Students build solar system web Site. This site had been entered into the ThinkQuest 1999 scholarship contest! Check it out.
Irby's Page Ron Irby Pictures — Ron has started a Messier marathon! See his growing collection of space images on his new picture page. (And for those who need help on deep sky terminology and classification, see our new Deep Sky Glossary Page). Ron's latest is the Helix Nebula, NGC 7293 (posted Oct. 1, 1999).
Royal Park Stadium 16 Royal Park Stadium 16 Theater Project — This modern stadium-seated theater houses one of the most unique lobbies in the USA, a set of astronomical and space supergraphics. This project was a joint effort involving the AAC, artist Elizabeth Indianos and Eastern Federal Corporation.

Sunspot Movie — During late October and early November 2003 the Sun went through history making activity. Watch October's three gigantic naked-eye wpot groups develop and rotate across the the Sun;s disk (Large File: May take time to load and play). Movie covers 2003 Oct. 15 00:00–Nov. 4 14:24 UT. Royal Park Stadium 16 Sunset Partial Solar Eclipse —Clouds thwart but AAC members see spectacular partial solar eclipse just as Sun sets! (December 2001)
Star-B-Q Star-B-Q! — Mike Toomey holds annual Star-B-Q's. Mike promises no displays! No speeches! No concessions! No tickets! Just a fun time with stars, telescopes, campfire, food and music. Free to all Alachua Astronomy Club and Greater Ocala Astronomy Club members including anyone interested in the stars and a good time. Bring your own beverages and a dish to share. Main courses, cooking surfaces, bottled water and morning snacks provided. Runs from sunset to sunrise. Camping permitted.
